Julie Brown is a seasoned legal technology professional with over 30 years of experience in the field. As the Director of Practice Technology at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, where she has served for over 20 years, Julie leads a team of accomplished legal technologists and works closely with attorneys to solve business problems. She is passionate about the intersection of law, technology, and leadership, and is dedicated to identifying and delivering innovative solutions for clients.
Julie's career in legal technology began in 1987 as a paralegal in a small law firm. Prior to joining Vorys, she spent 10 years working in a Fortune 500 Corporate law department as an Operations Leader, providing her with a unique perspective on the business of law and the correlation of technology.
In addition to her work at Vorys, Julie is actively involved in the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA). She currently serves as a co-chair on ILTA’s Volunteer Council and is on the ACEDs Global Advisory Board. She served as the Conference Co-Chair for ILTACon 2019-2020 and In recognition of her contributions to the field, Julie received ILTA’s Distinguished Peer Award for Litigation and Practice Support in 2011 and ILTA’s contributor of the year award in 2020.
Julie is a certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) and is also certified in various eDiscovery software platforms., the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Prosci’s Change Management Program, and Lean Six Sigma. Her primary areas of focus include eDiscovery, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and automation.
